Klong Nin Beach Resort, Koh Lanta

During the January 2013 PADI IDC on Koh Lanta, we used the pool of this resort and I was pleasantly surprised about the nice environment of this resort. Located  in a nice and quiet part of the island, tucked away behind the road between the beach and he resort, it's a haven of tranquility.

The beach is just 20 meters away in case you feel like a nice white sandy environment. The resort is cosy by itself, lush green between the paths and bungalows make for a relaxed and green setting.

A nice big, clean and clear pool waits for you and all rooms have a/c, wifi and are spacious. An excellent value for money is to be had.

Get away from the hustle and look for some down time in a relaxed environment, Klong Nin Beach Resort may for that bill.

Located in the City Center, this brand new hotel offers all conveniences for a nice price. Free wi-fi, a/c, big TV screen and spacious rooms near all that Nakhon Si Thammarat may have to offer. The City Wall, Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan, Cha Eian Airport and also a golf court can be found within 3km. 

The hotel is located next to a Robinson shopping mall and a Big C is also not far away.

This all at very favorable prices, a place hard to beat if you ever end up in Nakhon Si Thammarat!

This resort is made to pamper you around the clock and with 243 guestrooms, suites and villas there's bound to be something for you but it's above medium range budget!

Beck's Resort, Koh Phangan

This resort is located in Nai Wok Beach, within walking distance to Thong Sala and the main ferry pier and it's directly at the beach, albeit a very shallow beach and no pool. The rooms are ok, mainly fan but also a/c bungalows are available.

It's a very friendly place and the beach bar tends to attract all guests in the evening to hang out and have fun together.

The 30 rooms here are tranquil but still close enough to Thong Sala to be convenient and everything is within hand reach.

Nice and basic but good budget value.

Amari Don Muang, Don Muang Airport

Now that the 'old' Don Muang airport gets a new life lease with plenty of low costs carriers moving in again, the hotels in the neighborhood will also be delighted to get some more business again.

Especially the Amari Don Muang will be happy with a boost since it's the only hotel that I know of that has a direct connection by means of an overhead pass to the airport. How convenient can it become! The airport just a short walk away.

Dining is available and so is a golf course with holes between the runways! 

Besides this almost unbeatable plus of an overhead pass, the hotel has momentarily some excellent offers available (October 2012), so go ahead and pamper yourself in an Amari room for a really good price! They only have 423 rooms, so you should be able to book a room yo your liking!

This hotel is within 10 minutes from the airport and has free transfers to and from the airport.

There's a new wing and the rooms are of better standard compared to the old wing, so if possible, try to get a room in the new wing.

Plenty of small shops and restaurants are near the hotel and make it convenient for a late arrival and early check out.

Rooms include free wifi which makes it a winner for me. Next time on a transfer night, this will be hotel of my choice. Simple and basic.

Sea me spring too, Pattaya

During the 2012 version of the Pattaya marathon, I stayed here, since it's very conveniently located on the same block as Central Festival shopping mall on Beach road, where the start and finish was, just a few minutes walking distance away.

The rooms are spacious and come with free wifi, a safety box that will hold your laptop, a shower and a bathtub, fridge and a flat screen tv. All very convenient and brand new, the 60 room hotel was opened just earlier this year.

One of the really nice things about the hotel is the 9th floor pool, with a great view over the Pattaya sky line. The location is also very good, very central indeed, nothing is really far away.

We didn't have breakfast here, since it was not included and they don't have a buffet, only a la carte. No worries though, plenty of options outside.

All this came with a very reasonable price and I can definitely recommend this hotel. It won't spring the bank and has all amenities you look for in a hotel nowadays.
